Ipad

I know this has been discussed before but I searched the archives and not a lot of info.

So who uses an Ipad for their business and what specifically do you use it for and what apps have you been using?

Thinking about getting one for the business.

Thanks Dave...

I use mine to communicate with my customers at home and on the road, had it year now and it might be the one tool I don't want to go without.
Most of my clients are not phone people they want to shoot me,a text or email and know the work,is being scheduled.
The plus side is immediate satisfaction for my client they can move on with there day, written proof of exactly what should be done and no nighttime phone calls. Everything can be handled on the fly.
Once you start providing immediate feedback to your client they won't go anywhere. The other benefit is you are so easy to access every little thing they need taken care of comes your way,one stop shopping.

iPads are awesome, I'll let everyone else comment on what industry apps they use, but make sure that get one with 3g or LTE built in. There's also a thread here on how to hook up a printer to it in your vehicle.

We are working on an app for my company that will also allow you to measure out Yards and areas for customers using ariels. (not exact but a good quick estimation)

yeah I can't think of a good way to do that. The browser (safari) doesn't have access to the photos app. Only apps built for iPads have access to the photos. Older technology (like what lawn site is built on) were around before the concept of iPads so accessing those photos aren't really possible from within the browser. If lawn site was to come up with an iPhone/ipad app that app could let you upload pictures.
