Now we know your full of shizz. That is way too clean to be a working mower. Not to mention Toro found a way to create a worthless method of knowing what the height is.

That was taken when I bought it last spring - with a fresh coat of wax.

You wouldn't recognize it as the same mower today.

I think the manual tells you what height correlates with what letter, but I never found the need to look it up.
"D" seems to be pretty close to 3" though because that's what I usually cut at with my Ferris walk behind and the Toro matches pretty well when I use it to finish up on the tight spots.

My first and only commercial mower is the Great Dane Surfer, it has the fixed deck and cuts at 3". Is 3" going to be ok for all the different grasses?

Typical cuts are 3˝ to 4"
New seeding are 4˝+. Why? Mainly because of possible rocks and whatever else.
Rough cut -- deck is on highest setting, about 5˝ to 6", but with deck lifted up may cut up to 1ft on first pass. Don't worry, 2nd cut will be around 4" or so

Unfortunately, some of the yards, pond lots, and even former pastures are not that smooth, so even a higher setting doesn't really look that tall - particularly on a rough&wavy yard I do.

btw, type of grass is a mix of bluegrass, timothy, orchard grass, clover (white), rye, fescue...

I start a 3.25 in the spring and work my way up to 4.25 by mid summer then back down to 3.25 in the fall. This is on cool season grasses.
