walk behind between 36"-48"?

Anyone know of a manufacturer who is making a wide area walk behind that is in the range of 42"-48"? Some places the 36" metros are a little too small, and the 54" lazers are a little big....

Toro had a 44" for years. To me that was a near perfect size. Later they had a 40", but I don't know much about those. Gravely also had a 40 I believe. And I think even Scag might have had a 40" many years ago. Seems most manufacturers have determined everyone wants a 36", 48" or 52-54".

I meant it to say somewhere between a 36-48", something like a 42, 44, 46" model. It just seems like having to make that one extra pass kills me as the season wears on! haha.

I'm pretty sure I could sell off 3, 36"s and just go with anything smaller than a 48" that will fit into some gates.

oh ok I see what you are saying. I know alot of residential lawn tractors have 42 inch decks but you dont want that. As far as commercial mowers I am fairly sure you can get a toro grandstand with a 40 inch deck.

No... I need a walk behind, some of the areas are pretty steep slopes that contractors don't take any account into when they build houses... Let's make a nice looking house, and don't give 2 cents about doing enough grading to make the yard(s) decent.

I'm just getting tired as the season wears on.... today was my 1st off day in 11 days.... 11 straight days mowing, including last Sunday which is a big no, no, in my book. Have to do it sometimes because of the weather though.

I hate to sound dumb but the stand on should be better than walk behinds on slopes.

these are slopes greater than 20 degrees.... closer to 30 on some properties, not enough to justify buying a dedicated machine just for 5 properties, but I guess my thinking is if there was something in-between I could use them on all my residential stuff and get rid of the 36" machines.

i mow some pretty steep slopes with my grand stand and its the 36 inch model i think the make a 40 inch with larger tires but i know for a fact that the 48 is 10 times better on slopes and i manage.

well, you all may get me thinking.... I've always heard that a wright will handle slopes, but never gave much thought to it. I will be at one property tomorrow and will take and get a decent measure of the slope just for giggles. It's roughly 100 yards x 20 yards and if I had to guess, 25 deg of slope.

Anyone know the tread width on any of these? How tall are you guys too? I'm 6'3" 210ish.... so my center of gravity is pretty high. I've got two "shorter" guys 5'7"ish so it might would handle them.
