Facebook has recently (some time in the last year) changed its algorithms that may make a free account less beneficial. An article I recently read said with the algorithm changes the number of people that will see your non sponsored business posts is decreased by 44%. I have not had luck with the very limited Facebook advertising that I did but I think you need to approach it as a 2 step process to make a sale. Your ad should bring them f2f o your page and get a like. Then once they like your page you need to continue posting based on your marketing plan to convert the sale.

Overall you probably won't lose any sales on Facebook unless you post something questionable but there are more effective avenues to stick your marketing dollars into to convert sales when you have a tight budget.

Hire an employee and send him out doing lawns while you are working your full time job?

I'm ready to pay to STOP the calls. I'm not bragging, I'm seriously being called continuously - and I haven't advertised anywhere in 2 years.
As near as I can figure it's just a numbers game - I live just outside a city, so there are tons and tons of people looking for service - ALL THE TIME.

I just wish I were located closer to the really good paying areas.

OakNut, I agree with you hear. It's all about location. I live in the Fastest Growing City in America and there's plenty of new comers every day, and plenty of work to go around for all the illegals / legit companies, plus more to go around. With all that aside, if I had it my way, I would move to Hawiia though, and mow year around and have wealthy customers.

one of the bigger impediments was the various regulations which change after your company grows to over 10 employees-
for example you have to have a written safety program/manual and have to document injuries accidents.
Also, developing an effective employee manual to be consistant with your employees and reward good behavior while deterring bad behavior--

here is a link to customizable can fill it out and print/customize

other impediments are the large amounts of Workmans compensation insurance often required in some states as well as on commercial jobsites...
