Agreed. Steel + water = corrosion .... galvanized or not. The only good reason to use galvanized steel for any water application is cost.

I don't see too many pumps with bronze cases. They manage with cast iron. So do the top Griswold valves.

Now i pay attention in my well pit's. It seems a good well guy will put in either a Galvi Nipple or a sch 80 toe nipple to a union....
