I have two duramax lb7's. Some people consider it the good duramax, a less complicated system than newer one's. My 1st qwas a 2001. It went to the dealer too many times for three years. But there were no engine issues. I still have a 2002 & 2004. Warranted injectors at 24000 miles on the 2002. and I paid someone $3200 for injectors in the 2004 at 90000 miles.

The parking breaks are an issue. They have a complicated system with shoes inside the rear rotors. At least on the duallys. Someone on diesel place. Com talked about the dealer not being able to get them to work.

That dealer is an idiot.

Parking brakes are nothing special. Just about every gm has the same set up

I am sorry you're going through this but how do you spend a year looking for a truck (a very common truck btw) and end up in this situation? There are no mechanics you could have used to look at it you had to buy it first then ask your guy to look at it? You admit you're not mechanically inclined that's good most people think they are but they arent. Next time bring someone with you who is. Good luck to you I am not trying to be a jerk I just don't understand how you got in this situation
