what is your collection process

several people owe me money and refuse to pay. one of them a company selling its building. i know someone before mentioned we can put contractors liens on buildings.

but in general. what is your collection process?

My buddy "Richie the fish" collects for me, no problems now 10 years. I only ever did a lean once and when they went to buy a new car a few months later, I was paid personally.

We are very fortunate to deal with this only a few times a year. I usually send an updated invoice after 15 days late. Depending on the situation we also have made calls and sent emails. We are always very upbeat and try to make things work. As a last result, we take legal action.

i had one guy a couple years ago tell me he wasnt paying. im about to send him to a collection agency. another guy hasnt paid me. unfortunatly its past 90 days and i caint put a lien on the building he is now trying to sell.

You can hire an agency to collect on overly outstanding balances and get some of your lost revenue back. Make sure they have a reputation for being professional because you don't want to hurt your company image.
