Exmark Viking Question

Hey Guys,

I bought this mower at the end of last season, It's a Viking 48 with a 15hp Kawasaki and a 2003 model. The mower runs great with no issues. I pulled it out of storage the other day and noticed this..... There is a connector with two wires coming out from under the engine. It has been wired to a cable next to the linkage for the blade engagement. Just curios what it's for....looks like the previous owner rigged it up. Maybe a safety feature that has been bypassed?? TIA.
