not to mention the people who are on UI, then get some job at the mall from october to January 15th that's totally seasonal, and then get 'laid off' (Xmas season over) and go back on UI. Get a job as a barista from June until August… seasons over, go back on UI… it's essentially endless UI

I have met people who BLATANTLY tell me to my face they refuse to work for anything less than $15/hr (but they do the above thing…because it's essentially not working, they stand around to breathe air, collect some pay and slinker back to the UI office) so they just stay a 'statistic'

Could they be employed? yes easily… they just 'refuse' to be (at least on any permanent or semi permanent job)

These also seem to be the same people who tend to claim all the illegals are taking the work… what work? you mean LABOR? these people don't/won't labor.

Never had a check bounce in all the years I've been at this.

I have had a few who left town with an unpaid balance, which I blame myself as much for not heeding my own instinct and reading the red flags that were right in front of me.

But by and large I've been blessed with a pretty nice client base-though the times they are a'changing. The old white collar, country clubbers are slowly disappearing in my world.

It is indeed a regional thing, and were I a few years younger, I would probably relocate to a more lucrative area.
