last month a friend of mine got a bag of weed and feed that covers 5,000 sq. ft., put it on his 1,000 sq. ft. lawn, the whole bag.. "BY HAND", if that wasn't bad enough.. he didn't even use gloves.. just "washed his hands really good after.."
Saying a homeowner should have to be licensed to provide care to his/her own lawn is a socialist comment. I dont usually go around causing strife on this forum, but you MUST be a liberal.. whether you know it or not.

Do you think you should have to be a licensed plumber to repair a sink in your house?

Read the labels on products and take responsibility for your actions. Common sense is pretty neat.

the point is a home owner should be able to destroy his own property but not when he is going to potentially cause harm to others and if he hasn't taken the time to read the label and make sure he is applying the correct product why would you think he has taken the time to read the application instructions and make sure he is applying a poison in the manner specified so as to minimize harm to animals, people or others property also as a home owner destroy your own property but don't then whine because you were to lazy to read the instructions that's why they're there

Homeowners with chemicals are a multi-pronged problem.
1) They won't read the entire label/instructions.
2) They think if the direction say 1 tsp/gallon, then 2 tsp/gallon will work twice as well.

MSDS - what's that they say. Protective gear - I don't need no stinkin' protective gear. Do not even get me started ... I'm licensed and certified and it's often hard to believe what homeowners will do to save a few dollars.

I love stuff like this, poor guy cost himself a ton of money by not following directions. I 100% back anyone saying he SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE A LICENSE. What the heck has happened to the poeple of AMERICA, last I checked this is a FREE COUNTRY. We donot need a bunch of red tape and pencil pushers telling us what we can and can't do. Id tell you right fast to start kicking rocks if you come up to me on my property telling me what to do!!!!!!

He killed his yard, he will replace his yard, end of story.

No it's not.

Socialism would be if everybody was required to get their lawns treated and they didn't have a say in who did it. The state charges the homeowners and decides who does the treatment.

Or...

If the state required that everybody get health insurance and... the state decided who would do the health care.
