Iam no mechanic. I had a scag with a bad carb. I would try to start and would crank that machine. then the battery wouldn't recharge. I changed the alternator and bought a new battery. Then it ran all the time. After the carb was cleaned it didn't require any extra cranking.

There should be no continuity or (infinite ohms) If the stator fails either of these tests then you will need to replace the stator Check the regulator at full throttle should show 12 volts I think should no more then 14 |
