Best Reversible Plate Compactor in the 10k-14k compaction class
Ok guys, I need a little input from those of you out there who do site work and/or use a reversible plate compactor for back fill purposes.
Starting to gear up for some larger site work projects and I'm looking at what options there are out there for a reversible plate compactor in the 10k-14k compaction force classes. Thanks! Andrew

Well we have a Weber CR8, that does 16,650lbs of centrifugal force.
http://www.webermt.us/EN/reversible-...ctor-cr-8.html The CR7 or CR6 are a little smaller and might be what your looking for. Weber is top of the line, we really like ours. But big $$$. I usually tell people if your getting a good compactor expect to pay about $1 a lb of centrifugal force, if buying new. We use it for hardscaping. We got ours from Reliable Equipment in Manchester, NH. http://www.reliableequipment.net/index.html

Wacker Neuson is a quality product, same with Mikasa. I own both and have never had a problem.

this would be a good one for the price
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wacker-DPU50...item2c67232644 just keep checking ebay, i see a lot of demo's or refurbished newer stuff going pretty cheap on there that you would pay 8-10 for from a dealer. A 5045 would be a good size for you and if you do anything indoors the diesel would be better for air quality. I scooped up a 3545 for $500 at an action. |

Thanks Prodirt- I've started to keep an eye out for some good units and that one right there does seem to fit the bill.
