I've had 3 Scag Turf Tigers all with the Scag clamshell bagger, the only way to go. You can cover alot of ground in a hurry.
I'm trying out a new Scag Cheetah, 34 hp ,worried about fuel consumption. All I've owned up to now have been DFI units.

Better buy a new wallet too. You'll be opening it more often and wear it out faster.

That's what I am looking to get eventually. A TT or Cheetah with clamshell sounds like a combo that will get some work done quickly and efficiently.

Let us know how you like the Cheetah vs the TTs. I am still undecided on what t go with because of mixed reviews on here.

I've been on both machines and I went with the Cheetah. The suspension, the speed and the price all made it a much more attractive machine than a TT. Don't get me wrong, a TT is a great machine and has been the go to machine for years, but I think the Cheetah is the new up and comer.

Jim, I'm trying to figure out why the clamshell is better than the 3 bagger? The 3 bag holds about 4 bushels more than the clam. Why did you go with the clamshell?

I think I know why. Even though it holds a little less clippings, it can be dumped from the seat. You don't have to get off the mower, flip the top up, empty the bags, put the bags back on and close the lid, then get back on the mower. It's a huge time saver. I sometimes wish I had gone with the clam shell kit. The bags get pretty heavy with spring growth.
