We run a 10,000 lbs. 24' Continental for the past 7 years. It's held up well. Keep it washed weekly & waxed 2-3 times a year and it still looks decent even though it's black. Most will last long if you take care of em.

Wells cargo is the premier trailer out their. Brickman uses these trailers. Very expensive but will last forever.

It's not about the weight it's the axles. If you have a single axle then you don't need brakes, but if it is a dual axle then you have to have at least one axle with brakes. Just about every dual axle trailer out their will have brakes on both axles. In delaware i believe you now have to have both.

In maryland the weight thing only applies to commercial vehicle's 5 tons and over on the GVW. So most 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton truck will not go through weight stations. Only ramdom inspections if you are unlucky but if everything is up to spec then you are ok. This is rare I have only been pulled over once last year. They are cracking down on unsafe trailer set up's last week one came off of a truck on a 2 lane road and slammed another truck on coming, the driver was killed instantly. The trailer was only a 6x10.
