Grasshopper

Does anyone have the new Grasshopper that has the chute in the back? Wondering how it works out. Thanks in advance.

Mowed my yard a couple of weeks ago with a 325d rear discharge my rep brought me. It left a very nice cut although it leaves a different type of stripe. It has 3 blades like normal, and then another turning backwards. First time i have ever been able to walk in the house with my clothes on, flop down on the couch and watch tv... i had no dirt in my ears, no grass on me, mower operated very quite as the blade rpms are much different than a side discharge, it had the upgraded trim side rollers that were very nice. Only drawback is on very wet grass cutting more than a third i could see some small clumping, but no more than a side discharge. Clippings were fine cut, and didnt have the brush hogged look like most rear discharge units i have mowed on. Paired with the grammer seat and the rubber iso mount suspension set up it was an all around nice mowing experience i would recommend to any lawncare guy with regular scheduled accounts. I like the new 4 year warranty offered, and the 0% for 48 months.

I haven't looked at them in person but does the rear discharge clippings blow out the back or just drop down? Does it throw the clippings as in a rock could fly 50ft and take out a window?

I'd be more worried about it flying up and into the engine or hydros. But since there's a mat back there it should solve that. I'm sure some idiots will take it off and have a mess.

If I remember correctly the hustler rear discharge I demoed didn't have a flap and fling grass when you backed up against beds, parking lots, houses, roads and what ever was behind you.
