I had the Cub Cadet G 1336 commercial with a 13 hp Kawasaki and used it for two years and it never gave me a problem. It was a great machine. Always started first time, cut and ran great, cut anything and everything. I don't believe you would regret buying the 1748. As far as the Cub Cadet goes I have five different units and none have ever give me a problem.

I know they had them for 2011 and you can still buy that year and as far as I know they still are available for 2012. I haven't heard anything about them being discontinued, but I guess anything is possible. I'll have to make a call to the shop tomorrow and find out for sure.

Are they pistol or something different? I have the Lesco pistol which were better quality mower than the unit they replaced them with which had the easier to use controls.

The Hydro models like the 1748 are Dual hydro pistol grip and the G series is what they call light touch pistol, my G1336 was the light touch.
