I just bought this forkster attachment. This is the second one I have seen on the used market in 5 years, so I figured I better bite the bullet. We do alot of 10 pallet or less sod jobs, so it sucks to take a mini skid and harley rake then either stack the pallets around a job or go back to the shop and get the ctl just to move pallets. This way we can take just one machine to the jobsite.

They also have an attachment available for this unit that converts it to a large sod roll installer which might be nice. I have always worried about laying the rolls with a 10k lb machine.

cool! never saw one of those. With that I could lift full pallets w my skid

Yeah they are pretty neat. Very rare to find used, and I think the mini skid att is like 8k new. So they are kinda pricey.

Supposed to be able to offload sod off a of a semi, so we will see how that goes!

What is the weight capacity of it? Your sod farm doesn't bring a spyder to unload and place pallets where you want them?

2000-2500 lbs. yeah they place it, but alot of times we get it delivered the night before so we are not waiting on a late sod truck and we can start laying at 7:30a, and if it is a 10 pallet job we can prep and lay 10 pallets in one day. It would be hard to have the piggyback to come at the exact right time after prepping.

Plus when u set pallets out w piggyback, they never get it right and you have to sod around them. Production is always increased when you can move pallets around and haul off left overs.
