We already read the instruction manual that said the output pressure would exceed specs, so why the surprise?
How are the pressure relief valve(s) working for you? |

I had the pressure relief valve set at 100 psi but it didn't seem to relieve the pressure enough. When I checked it after the system dead headed there was much water on the dock from the pressure relief. I would have thought I would be shooting a stream of water. |

Is your lash-up different than this?

the numbers in the manual suggested that the uphill run added to the operating pressure would be excessive - they do give an alternate install, where the controller goes up the slope from the pump
As for a mechanical pressure relief, there is always the possibility that a simple spring-loaded valve won't cut it, and you look for something else (very spendy) I suspect the really simple pressure switch and pressure tank and master valve setup would have worked fine, because the uphill run would have done the same thing the pump control does - provide a resistance for the pump to push against. |
