how to read engine codes on 28hp efi kohler
just what it says... what wires do i jump or how?????

Go to the Kohler website: http://www.kohlerengines.com/manuals/landing.htm
Punch in your numbers an download a free service or owners manual. Should have all the info ya need!

Dont jump any wires.
Do you have a light on the machine? I hear some new machines they arent installing one so thats why I ask. If you have a light, turn the key on and off 3 times and then it will start spitting out the codes. If you dont have a light, you would need to hook one up or get the laptop cable/software. All the info on codes is in section 5.b or 5.c or something of the service manual available at kohlerplus.com |

Code 31 is the 02 sensor and 34 means the computer is in open loop. 61 means it's done with codes.

But I made a mistake. I checked the codes with the engine cold. Never do that. You'll get the improper codes.
