Wow. What a mower. Going from a bobcat 23 hp 61" with 4300 hrs to a TT with a velocity deck. I did get the FD791D. Thanks for all the input. Guess I should have read your post before I bought it. Dealer said it was a 29 hp. Ol well. I will check the gph this week. Has plenyt of power for me.

That is a fine-looking machine, and I'm glad you're satisfied with the power. The only problem I have is dealers selling mowers that aren't educated on what they are selling...OR ARE THEY???

So this engine is only 26 hp? I need to get my facts straight before I go and let them know. Trying to find on kawasaki website. Also had the 31 Kohler fuel injected I could have bought. Id like to buy another one soon. My mowers have alot of hours on them. 11 k hrs between my Scag cub, bobcat and walker. Think it was about time.

Keep us up to date on the gph with that great looking machine. That engine or the Vanguard is what I plan on getting next spring.

Here is Kawasaki's site which will enable you to compare engines, just make sure you are on the correct series.

http://kawpower.com/engines

The digitally fuel injected FD791D-DFI will get very good fuel economy, and will feel somewhat stronger than a carburetor type engine, due to fuel injection.

Well we put 38 hrs on the tt this week. Averaged 1.18-1.24 gph. Makes for a better day riding in comfort. Dont feel as wore out. I am really impressed with the velocity deck. Absolutely no clumping all week mowing wet grass at 7 am with heavy dews. Only thing I dont like is it seems alot of grass collecting on top of the deck and on my legs. I think it has an adjustable baffle. Dont know which way to adjust to help. Any thoughts. Definately another mower with the velocity deck and a peco soon. What a machine

Are you sure it's grass blowing out from underneath the deck and catching on top, or is there damp grass the front wheels may be throwing up that is moving onto the deck? I have this happen quite often if there is moisture causing grass to adhere to the wheels.

Grass

Your are right puppypaws. Grass is not coming from discharge or baffels, its coming from the front tires. I get that a lot, dry or wet grass

I just finished washing the mower used today, it looked as if it had been in a mud bogging competition instead of mowing grass, and it actually poured rain on me which stopped my cutting today. My area has been in a tropical weather scenario for quite some time now.
