We have a 6.4, it has been in the shop only once in over 60k miles, and for a minor oil leak at that. I should probably cross my fingers now that I've talked about it.....

You got a bad truck it happens. i have two 6.4 one with never had any major problems with them. only had a steering damper in one and the other been problem free. I am glad people keep posting these problems cause it just lowers the used market price and i can pick them up cheaper. just like with the early 6.0 you can get them cheap all day long and spend about 3k and have a bullet proof motor.

Yeah, Im one that if its not right and after multiple tries I just get rid of it. Its cheaper to trade it and move on than to have it broke down all of the time.

hence the downside of leasing: you're stuck with it for the term

Dodge and GM kindly thank Ford for all the new Diesel pickup customers.
Luckily I had one of the last 7.3's and got to see my brother suffer through a 1st gen sick.0. So I've had 2 trouble free Dodges since then. My current 11' Dodge lost the emissions junk at 10k and currently has 31k trouble free miles. My brother now has an 07' Dmax he bought new currently with 75k miles. Only problem is to replace a u joint and that is with a 32' GN pulling skid steers, sky trac, and scissor lifts all the time. Last edited by LibertyFarmLandscaping; 10-01-2012 at 09:49 PM. |
