Need an efficient quick aerator for a small 500 sq ft lawn
If I got one of those 30" wide barrels with the spikes, that you fill with water or sand, do you think an average sized man could push it around by hand easily enough. That is the smallest size I can find that might be doable by hand. I could mig weld a D-handle onto the hitch opening. There was one of these in a manual push style about 20" wide by yardbuddy, but I cant find them anywhere.

I wouldn't waste my money. Got to your local rental store and rent a plug type walkbehind, will do a proffessional job and only cost you about 40 bucks.

Well, I got this manual thing called a houndog and it took me about 2.5 hrs to do 1K Sq Ft yard. The length of time it took was worse than the labor. Not sure I would want to do that more than once a year. But it did work great.

You want a plug aerator, the spikes compact the soil and make the situation WORSE in the long run.
