I have done this in the past also and just charged 1/2 to 2/3 the regualr price. Most people understand and don't argue with it. I wish I could send some rain over to yall, today is the first day we haven't had rain in the last couple of weeks.

I mowed 9 places yesterday, and did partial mowings on 6 of them, charging according to the time required.

I'm sure there are going to be those who say to charge the full price, but I can't justify doing so if I'm only doing half the work. For example, one account is a small apartment complex, probably a little over an acre total area. All that needed mowing was the grassy area between the sidewalks and the apartments on the shady side, and a small area between parking spaces. The rest of the place was crispy, and I spent only 20 minutes or so servicing the property and only charged about 40% of my normal price.
I do the same, for the most part. Luckily most of my jobs are within a mile of me. Most of mine are businesses and a church, with a few residentials. ( i still do this work part time) I do a couple of Post Offices and they are serveral miles away. They pay x amount per month, so I do a full cut on those unless they are not growing at all. But I get paid the same amount regardless.

I do charge the partials based on amount of time spent on them compared to a normal cut. Everyone seems to like it done that way. I have one small store lot that I cut biweekly along with the hwy frontage ditch that the store owners want me to cut it as low as possible no matter how dry it is. (they are trying to save money whereever they can. The last time I cut it nearly a month ago, it was pretty high (bahia) and I cut it low (2 ") and it browned out just like I told them it would. But they don't care because it will just be that much longer before they have to get it cut again.

We got about 5.5" of rain last week so it is about ready to cut again but I almost expect them to ask me to wait another week. I will probably have a problem with that as the hwy frontage ditch is thick and tall almost 12" already.

Other than that one, the rest are fine with me mowing when I decide and me charging the appropriate amount.
