fescue seed purchasing for fall 2012
Anyone ordering their seed yet? What type of pricing for blue tag high grade seed per lb pricing are you all getting? I am hearing higher prices per lb this year than last - not real sure on the situation with the oregon growers. What have you all heard and what type of price are you being quoted?

I got quoted $1.17/lb for seed at JDL, I hope to find it cheaper somewhere else.

I have to check receipts, but I had to buy some a JDL in the spring for spot seeding and it was almost 60 bucks for 50lbs which I thought was outrageous. I think it was only like 40 something last year.

Seed prices can vary from season to season based on Harvest and availability in the fields. growers will rotate based on demand. Not long ago turf type tall fescues were selling in the $1.70 lb range. The only thing I continue to avoid is the over hyped Rhizome fescue's. Until I seed NTEP or independent university studies I'm not buying into the retail advertising ploy.
