Haven't operated a 305, but I did spend about 45 minutes on a new 304ECR that a buddy of mine has. I liked the following things on it:

cushioned stick and boom
I thought the hyd coupler was pretty good
good bucket rotation without having to change pin positions
auto two speed
adjustable aux hydraulic flow
standard security system- big plus
storable lower window
all joystick controls instead of having to use a foot control for boom swing
it came standard with aux lines and couplers out to the end of the stick

it took me a while to get used to their new control interface but I thought it was pretty well thought out. Not my favorite mini, but it was better than many that I've run.
