Ah well, I guess we should have known that sounded too good to be true. I ordered one anyway, ship to store. Despite most of NTE's trimmer stock being refurbs (in my location), they assured me this one would be factory fresh.

So you guys still feel like this will be an upgrade over your srm230's, considering Keith's discovery about published vs. real world husqvarna weights? I'm having trouble finding power specs for echo at all to compare, but apparently 9.3lbs of husqvarna might weigh just as much as 11.3lbs of echo!

Thanks OP for the tip on this one, & thanks to Keith for the feedback on his 326.

Heavy is not always bad if like the large Shindaiwa's they have a nice solid machined shaft for instant positive line response.

Nice. Probably less vibes too.

I tend to agree with you. If you are doing heavy trimming the added weight and strength of a heavier trimmer will make it feel like it's doing all the work. If you had a light weight trimmer trying to do the same thing it would toss it around like a rag doll forcing the operator to "man handle" the trimmer more. I have a FS90R that I use for heavy growth and 2 Echo srm210's. I'm going to get a 323l in a few weeks. I'm just so busy that once I get through these jobs I'll have the spare money to invest/right off on a Husky 323L. I do a lot of fine tuned trimming where a light trimmer and light gauge line (.065) works great for detailing work. The 210's do a fine job as well but I think after holding one of the 323's it might allow me to do a even better job (if that's possible, yeah I'm picky like a PITA customer) then with the 210.

The 326 has some power. Not at much as the Kawi KGT27a, and not the lower rpm torque. But wound out, it's a solid trimmer. I mean, I don't pick it up and say, "man, this thing is heavy." They obviously are publishing the weight minus the attachment. And I think the 326 is heavier than the 323 despite what it says online. I don't think you can go wrong with it or the 323.

I don't know how Kawasaki did it, but they built a 10 1/2 lb trimmer that had 1.6hp and still felt as solid as anything I have ever used. With the "B" and "C" models they put on some weight and shed some power.
