Hope that worked but the baffle is just inside your shute opening 3 bolts 1-thru edge of deck / 1 thru top of deck / one is the bolt that holds the spindle to the deck hope this helps. you might also check the tension arm on the belt it has 2 48224 sealed bearings stacked on top each other at where the bolt goes all the way through the deck if those are sticking or bad it will prevent proper tension on belt good luck. I am re-building a 2001 tiger with the 61 advantage deck the gear box is being a pain.
I removed the turbo baffle and it improved the performance. I will also look into those bearings on the tension arm.

What is the gear box issue you are having? Do you know what the service interval is for the gear box and what oil to use in it? I never took mine apart when I had the deck out.

I replaced the two bearings in the spring tensioner arm because the old ones were sticking. I also replaced the deck belt however it still doesn't seem too mow completely on the discharge side blade when I go through thick grass.

My thought is that the spring tension is too weak and the belt is slipping on the pulley that drives that blade. Does anyone know if there is a stiffer spring I can try or perhaps the original has weakened and I should just replace it with an oem new one...
