Update hes came with in a few hours of being fired he stood us up big time this week. He claimed he needed Friday off cause he was feeling ill from all the screaming he did when he won. Would not pick up the phone for 2 days we decided if we didn't hear from him by sat night he was fired. So my other employee must of tipped him off cause he texts us and asks if we still had lawns to mow. I tell him of course we do then he goes into how he didn't quit b i t c h style perhaps not but he did act like one. He knows our mowing schedule and completely threw it off this week we had to mow into Sunday. Then comes my favorite part the 5 hours he had to spend getting a checking account and getting off their black list and how he was worried to leave his family home with the check. And that was why he needed to time off but we give him Monday and Tuesday off so he has week days to do this stuff. Then he went on with how this is the worse thing that ever happened too him

Some people really can not hold on to money and thought of having any is to painful to deal with. Iv been on him for years to clear it up with the bank but he was all to happy to spend 1500 a year in check cashing fees rather then be a man and pay a lousy couple hundred dollars in bounced check fees. I think I am going to look into tax credits and see if he qualifies as handicapped grrrr.

You're much more patient than I am. That guy would not be still working for me.

My vote was to terminate but my partner who is the one that works with him wanted to be kind. Funny 2 months ago on something else our votes on this guy were reversed. Needless to say hes on thin ice. My main issues with him as of late is he never thinks and as hes grown older he's slowed down majorly yet his pay has increased. I am like 14 years older then him my partner is 16 years older then him and we can work rings around him. There are 12-16 more weeks in the season once we get through fall clean ups were give this a lot more thought.

I was thinking the same thing, but I've been known to give wayy to many chances myself, so I can't say much, I've been on both sides of the fence so it's hard to let someone go unless there stealing or something major like that. If it was one of my guys and I have one just like this, I would at least try to sit him down and have a heart to heart, weather he listens is another story. You can only lead the horse to the water you can't make him drink. It's hard with some of these young guys they just don't seem to "get it"

Yah, and this is why I hate partnerships. I could never have a partner stifling me like that. I like making my own decisions.
