Yeah well, not sure where you are in Maine but doesn't everyone and their mother have a plow in Maine?
That's the rate I end up averaging with my own mostly residential route...takes about 8 to 9 hours to run it for a small storm and brings in about $1,250. That's with a few free ones mixed in (neighbors). My route used to be a good bit bigger but my service was suffering on the bigger storms and so were my truck and I. The rate for subs in a lot less...ballpark of $60/hr last I knew for a pickup with 8 foot plow. |

Everyone does have a plow which is why rates are lower IMO. In my town subs plowing roads with the truck I described get $53 PH. I know how it is with a large plow route, those 3-6" storms are great, and then you get that Nor'easter and it's a different story.
