If this is a ditch that stretches longer than your customers property I would definitely suggest putting armor stone on either end of the drainage pipe so the water won't wash under or around it.

I kinda figured it would need more compaction than my plate tamp or my CTL machine would do so I called our local rental tool store and priced a 1.5 Ton ride on vibe roller. It wasn't bad only $158 a day. I'm gonna use a concrete drain box with metal grate. The pipe will be black plastic from our local farm supply. As far as the ends one end is connecting to an existing tile. The other end he wants a cmu block wall on a footer. Then we are gonna veneer it with stone that matches the stone he already has. What is armor stone?

Ahh gotcha. I've never posted a picture here or well anywhere on the net for that matter. I will take a few pics of the job and post them up. If I can figure it out. Shoot, I think I'm the only one on the planet that hasn't joined Facebook! Lol.

Armour stone is large stackable flat pieces of limestone, gabion stone or rip rap is what you mean.

I like the cabled hexagons but have not used them. I see it used on right of ways for pipeline protection though without maintenance, I've seen them fail as well.
