Overseeding in Minnesota.

Is it too early to overseed in Minnesota (I'm in the Twin Cities area)? My plan is to dethatch first to fluff up the grass, scratch up the surface and get rid of any winter debris on the grass, aerate, seed, and run over the lawn again with the dethatcher to "rake in" the seed, will this work OK?

Thanks for any advice,

Joel B.

Dethatching is pretty destructive. Have you thought about a slit seeder? I have had goor luck in the past with a short (2 - 2.5") first mow on bluegrass, aerate, then overseed.
