We carry either a small 12v air comp. or an air tank, several cans of fix-a-flat, and a tire plug kit.

I've had the plug in air compressors but the problem with them though is that if you have a flat say on a Z right at the truck's door you are okay, but if you are actually cutting and quite a ways from the truck well then the only way it will do you any good is to drive on a flat and chance damaging the tire and or rim further. That's why much I prefer an air tank over them.

I carry an air tank, really handy for low or leaking mower tires to get thru a day! I also carry plugs to plug holes caused by nails and stuff. I have fixed MANY holes in trailer tires because I wear then slick before I replace them!

how long do those air tanks hold air? does it have a release valve on it cause it'll be in the enclosed i wouldn't want the thing to explode.
a 5 gallon would probably sute me just fine. i should get a couple cans of fix a flat and a tire plug kit. |

Last year we decided to purchase a honda gas powered air compressor for one of our crews. Even though it was 700.00 It was a very good invesment. Not only are we able to air up tires but we are able to change blades and make major repairs out on the job. Next year we plan to buy one for the other two trucks.

I just have a 12 volt air pump, works great, but a little slow. It suits my needs though. Simply plugs into the cigarette lighter on my truck.
A friend of mine bought that fix-a-flat stuff, and it didn't even come out of the bottle. lol Im not saying all of them are like that, but thats my only experience with them. Its defintly a good idea to keep some sort of air inflator with you. good luck -dave
