Very nice! What size engine does it have. If you don't mind, how much was it?

It has a 19 HP Kawasaki. It was $5150 + tax. Most places around here sell it for $5280.

Not really. The IS 1500 has 4 wheel suspension and the 1000z only have front wheel suspension.

Wow Ferris are inexpensive

I just paid $7400 for a toro with 19hp kawasaki 44'' mulch kit and z stand. I think the base price was $6600.

The 1500 series is. The 1500's probibly give you more bang for the buck than any other mower of comparable size but their larger mowers are quite a bit higher than some of the other major brands.

How much does the deck overhang from the trimming side?

I could see that being a concern with going around trees and edges of beds.

Actually they saw you coming and you got robbed! I can buy that exact same mower here for $5800..and the Z Stand is now standard equipment, which means that they also robbed you again by charging you $800 for a flippin $350 mulch kit! Heck I only paid $6600 late last year for a Brand New Toro 60" 25 Kohler with Jack Stand ZTR......
