Brakes squeaking
Quick question, I've noticed that I have an excessive amount of break squeal when I apply the brakes on my WB. What can I do to eliminate this? I've tried belt dressing on the drums, and even that stuff you use for automotive brakes but it is WAY too sticky. Any suggestions??? TIA

Squealing comes from vibration.
Check to see if linings are square with the drum when applied. Linings could be glazed or down to metal.

I inspected the brake bands and the drums. All looks good. I sprayed it down with brake cleaner then added a dab of lithium grease. It worked fine, however, by the time I finished my yard it was squeaking again. Looks like I'll have to live with it until I replace the brakes. I may pull it all apart and look more closely at the bands to see if they are glazed.
