We just got back from a monster estimate. The lady wants her whole place to be totally transformed. I felt confident about most of it except for this one part.
There are two banks sloping up from her driveway on both sides. Right now they are covered in dead evergreens that we are ripping out. The reason they are dead is that the ground is very rocky (shale) and there is alot of runoff. She asked me what I thought she could do. I said after we tear the stuff out, we could probably put topsoil down and maybe put some ivy in there. My question to you guys is what can I do to ensure that the ivy gets time to get established? Is this a good plan? I have minimal experience in landscaping, but I feel that this could be a good way to get my feet wet. Is this something I can handle or should I subcontract this out to someone? Thanks.
