Oil change? Pay me now.

Going out to eat? Here's the bill, I'll take that whenever you're ready.

I pay for compost when I place my order and I pay the delivery guy when he drops it off. I can't think of many businesses that let everyone pay in 30 days. The utility company wants theirs in 14 days and they make you pay a deposit when you first sign up. After a few years of timely payments, they refund the deposit, but that is because they have done the equivalent of a credit check.

This is how it worked when I was at a large company whether I was buying or selling.

the services you listed are not recurring services......
when i buy anything i get 30 days or i will not do business with them...

Pay Now

There are some companies that because of paying history , get put on do not sell, or COD. Customers that run late all the either get dropped, or pay after services are done .It is just like going to the doctor pay when finished.

bill on the 15th, due on the 30th. I give 2 mows on credit, they give 2 mows on advance payment, fair in my opinion, they want me to give credit, why shouldn't they be willing to give 2 mows credit to their account?

That is what I would do. 1 week in advance. No payment no service.

If you can't live with that find a new line of work.

oh I just read your bio...17...you are the neighborhood kid...
Moron, If you read what I wrote, you would see that I do bill montlhy, 30 days. But these people are a risk, thats why I am requesting weekly payment.

I pay for my compost, rock, sand, whatever once a month when my supplier sends me the bill, including orders that are delivered..I also pay my nursery bill and irrigation supplier once a month when I get their bills.I woulden't even bother with reqesting weekly payment.Just get your 250 and head for the door. You invoiced her on mon..this is fri, give her tell fri of next week then go knocking on the door, intell then deliver a stop service notice with another invoice marked overdue.

I had a lot of problems with monthly billing in the past. It would take 30-60 days before I would get any payment, and some people only felt like paying a little of what they owed. So now I bill every week or every other week, depending on the vibe I get from the customer.

Like DFW CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

All new clients are put on auto pay with a credit card..... Mow on monday. run card tuesday, money in bank on wednesday..

With the extremely low profit margin on mowing for a larger company....its almost impossible to extend credit.... A net 15 account is really 45 days....

Mow on may 1st......send bill on may 31st.......due by June 15th......
Youre waiting 45 days to get paid on an account that profits $3-6.

If youre 30 days thats even worse because youre really 60 days....

I like the money in the bank now a lot better.... Sure help at the end of the week!!!

I don't see what difference recurring service makes. My utilities are recurring and those were prepaid with a deposit until the company was comfortable with my payment history. My local phone service and my cable are both pre-paid too.

I promise you, net 30 terms are typically only given to other companies with a credit app. I know. I've been at the struggling company that couldn't get net 30 terms from any new vendors.

If I walked in off the street with no previous history and started ordering hundreds and thousands of dollars worth of stone and brick and compost and everything else, day after day and was given net 30 terms, there would be something wrong. I'm not saying they don't do it. I'm just saying it's foolish and I don't do it.

You and sheshovel have been in business for 15 years. While I am sure there are some suppliers who might extend you credit just because they don't know any better, most companies are probably extending you credit because of your history with them. They have done a real-world credit check.

Here is the bottom line. Im not running a credit company here, and that is why I want to be paid on service. I can sense this will be a problem now and in the future. I typically give my good customers the option of chosing how they would like to pay: either monthly, weekly, or in advance.

If you earn a good credit rating with me, than you earn the right to choose how you would like to pay.

I dont know why Im getting flack for being young.
