Topsoil meas

Anyone know the meas for finding how much tonage you need for either sq ft or meas before sq ft?

Meas are 30' x 2240' which is 67,200 sq ft

Well they ask in the blueprints for it to be 4 inch thick? Coming up with 280 tons??? Sounds right or not enough... WHAT IS THE CORRECT MEASURMENT?? To get the tonage?

Take you square footage and multiply by .33 (4" depth) and divide by 27. This will give you cubic yards of topsoil which would be 821.33 cu yds. Take this number and factor in you tonnage for topsoil. This could be 2000 lbs per cu yd (821.33 ton) or 2500 lbs per cu yd (1026.66 Ton) depending if it is wet. Hope this helps.
