Hedge Trimming clean up

Well its that time of year...time to trim all shrubs/hedges.....but wait this is after mulch "season". My question is if there is any suggestion to make the beds look good with out having to re-rake the mulch around....

As of now i just rake the heavy stuff with a leaf rake....but im left with tons of little leaves/pine needles... then i take the bp and scatter them or blow them under the bushes....

Is there any better way to get it done quicker and make it look nicer?

You can put a large tarp underneath the plant to catch the clippings. Thats what we usually do when someone wants a shrub trimmed after new mulch has been put down.
