How do your customers pay

I'm not sure how we should collect from our customers (well we don't have any yet). Do you bill yours or do they pay you while you do the work ?
thanks :blob3:

Some of mine are always home (older folks) and preffer to pay as they go so I get a check when I finish each time. Others like management companies with multiple properties get invoiced monthly(I use quick books pro) and then net 14 terms which means they have 14 days from the invoice date to mail me or tell me to pick up a check. Just starting it can be hard to carry the overhead having monthly payers if the accts are large. Different customers like different ways. You can either lay out your terms or let them decide. Just gets hard after awhile to learn whopays when and how when you get a lot of customers

I bill monthly. If your cut is Mon. - Wed, billed on the 15th payment due by the 1st. Cut Thur - Sun, billed on 30th due by 15th. Keeps the cash coming in all month.

most by check once per month. I send out bills by the 15th and they are due no later than the last day of the month for work done that month.

I bill half my customers on the first of the month and give them 30 days to pay then I bid the other half on the 15th and give them 30 days to pay. I like this system alot keeps checks coming in all the time, I usually at least get one check a day, then other times it seems like I will get a ton all at once but I feel it does spread it out a little bit better.

Mixxed....
a couple leave a check on the door. Most pay by bill pay. some send me checks. sooooo if I am paid I am fine regardless how it is paid. Cash, cheque, paypall, bill pay, any other form.
due 30 days from invoice. I invoice at end of month.

All of my customers pay at the time services are rendered, or before. More and more are prepaying for the month. New customers want to pay as they go, but once I've been out there a couple of times, they tend to switch to monthly.

I recently put out way too many flyers and I'm trying to get my schedule sorted out for July, but once that is under control, I plan to get credit card billing online. Right now, I only accept checks.
