Point blank those prices are WAAAY too high for an 01' 1500 with 100k i'd say $6000 at the most. I would'nt pay that but that's what i feel the truck is worth. for what that truck would cost you in the short term you could buy a brand new one. 1/2 trucks especially base models aren't that expensive. take that $7995 and put it down on a 05' and you'll have a really low payment.

Chevy trucks, Exmark Lazers, enclosed trailers.

Our Chevy dealer has a brand new now for 14k with the 4.3. Chevy is offereing BIG discounts right now and it makes the used ones worth a LOT less now. Im willing to bet your dealer does not have 5 grand in this one. I would offer him much less or go with a new one. With that being said the V8 would pull much better. My late Tundra with the V6 pulled great but dont know about the 4.3 chevy. It is rated I think at 190-195HP and my Toyota V6 is 245HP.
