Tip of The Day - 8/19/05

The three numbers you see on a bag of fertilizer represent...

1st number = nitrogen, 2nd number = phosphate, 3rd number = potassium or potash

In a nutshell, nitrogen promotes growth, phosphate makes the grass strong, and the potassium makes the ground a suitable growing environment.

I'm sorry, but I think a little more research is in order, here. Perhaps a search using the words Potassium and Vascular. Roots will come in there, as well.
Thanks for the forum, though...I agree that it's a good idea, too.

Runner - I'm being pretty general here. I know that Potassium is not a nutrient as much as it is a ground stabilizer. Just was pointing out you want the ground you are growing grass plants in to act like a sponge. If you use the search and read the pest/fert forum you will find tons of info for sure.
