for those of you doing landscape construction, how did you all learn your skills. Are there any educational classes offered? I'd like to start building stone walls, patios, and install nightscaping and eventually irrigation work. I can't seem to find any courses offered in the Northeast. Would it be appropriate to approach a LCO and offer help? would you guys doing this sort of work really teach a guy these skills? or would it be too risky to possibly be teaching someone, who in a few years down the road may be your competition? everything i have learned so-far has only been from textbooks, i'd like to get some hands on skills and maybe even some certification under my belt before i start to offer this. One last question for those doing all the above services, is it more profitable for you than lawn maintenance work?
