I am in Key Largo for now. Not currently in the business but looking to meet those nearby who are. Doesn't seem to be too many left who speak English the whole industry here seems quite competitive. Definately miss the time with the skid loaders and dozers, and did a lot of equipment repairs. It's just not as fun in the office making sales...

I live in Gainesville but still mainly operate out of Williston. With everyone and their brother around here getting in the business I expected to see some locals on here. Guess they're too busy trying to undercut me and in the process, can't make enough to buy a computer and pay for an internet connection.

It's amazing that anyone can make a living in this business cutting lawns for 25.00, you would think that in a state as expensive as Florida more money would be paid. Yet how many of the mower jockeys in south Florida aren't even legal residents of the USA? I have yet to meet anyone mowing or running equipment who speaks good (if any) English. They mow so cheap that none of the homeowners cut their own grass anymore. Since Florida's economy has such low paying employment, it's easier to cut grass, I guess and get tax free cash.
