Firewood anyone??
Just wondering if there are other guys on the board that sell firewood?
I ran my ad for 11 days up here in MN, and ended up selling 10 full cords of wood, $3450. I've got another 30 full cords left to go. Only problem I've got now is, with the sun not coming up until 7 am, rain every other day, and heavy heavy dew every morning, it's getting hard to keep up with the mowing while trying to get the wood hauled in the evening without being too late. Last night we delivered a load of wood at 9:15 pm, because the people wanted it before the weekend and it was the only time I was able to deliver. Anyways, I sell 100% oak, no birch or softwood mixed in, and am delivering for $115 / face cord, 4'x8'x16".

We get $115 / face cord, delivered and stacked.
You're right, there's tons of trees everywhere, but with vast prosperity and all, too many people have Yukons, Tahoes, SUVs and no time to get their own wood. It's too easy to call a guy and have it delivered, just like a pizza or your groceries.

I sell firewood here for $200.00 a cord 4'x10'x32" that is 2 rows of 16" peices it is a little under a full cord but we advertise as a estimated cord because we use a front end loader to pick it up. It usually equals about 5 1yard buckets. We only dump the wood we do not get into stacking it. I am also looking into making small packs of wood that contain about 6-8 peices and charging about 3.99+ tax for the homeowner that only want fire for one night or for a special occasion. I have alot of people that want to buy it by the peice I didnt even know where to begin with that so I charge .50 cents a pc.

Keep in mind Lwnmwrman lives near Mpls/St.Paul and for most folks in that area they can't just go out and cut their neighbors trees down. I'm 200 miles north of him and I just paid $65 a full cord delivered in 8ft lengths. I cut & stack myself. I go through about 15 full cords a winter but heat the shop, house and our hot water via an outdoor wood boiler. My entire heat bill for the winter is under $1000, that's with heating two buildings and the water.
