Joe,

Those numbers are about right for cutting. Where are you exactly at? I live in the woodlands and my shop is in Spring, what type of work do you do ?

What type of equipment are you looking for?

I buy all of my stuff from http://www.zriders.com/Pages/z_riders.html

I believe the stores name is cypress power equipment and they are located off 249, on Grant Road. They have the cheapest prices in Houston on just about everything. Gravely,Hustler, echo, sthil redmax are their main lines.

If you want some info about the area, just let me know....whats your email?

SouthernYankee,

Thanks for the help, I am starting part time but plan on leaving my high paying job once it takes off. It took me a long time but I now know happiness is not about money. I have a high tech job and always said I missed working at the plant nursery (The now closed West Nursery in The Woodlands off 45 North).

I will cover Lake Conroe and Spring because I know allot of people there after living there for over 20 years.

I currently live in Spring, do you have any used gear you want to sell?
I need the entire setup because currently I PAY TO GET MY LAWN CUT

joe,

I dont have any old equipment for sale, sorry. I did a lot of extensive research about landscaping in this area and the biggest thing is that people are looking for dependable service, plain and simple. I have scored a few accounts this month purely because of this.

There are maybe 2-3 other guys that are in the spring/woodlands area on lawnsite.

I would get a 36"Wb, 32"stander or what I have a 34" gravely ztr. All are around the same amount.

Also I do bobcat work, if you know anyone that is looking for bobcat work, hit me up.

"dependable service" is the same thing I got from people around town.
Most people just wanted the guy to show up.

I also heard alot of problems with quality, guys jump out of a truck and finish in 5 seconds. Makes the yard look like it has waves and the owner feel like they got ripped off.

It is the same way with maid service, they book 5 people for the same day and only go to who is paying the most.
