yardpro 14.5hp 36in cut

i recently bought a 5 year old lawnpro with an electric clutch for the deck,but it gives a very hard kick when i engage the deck .
can anyone help.

A hard kick is normal with an electric engagement because the electric clutch engages so fast.

I don't know where you have the throttle when you engage the deck but try it about half way then once it's up to speed give it full throttle.
