I am just starting out and was reading and saw bed edging so I was wondering about it. I am trying to create a full service. Is this something you do once a year? purpose?

We do edging once a year with mulch or new bed installs, sometimes more often at customers requests. Do some searching on here you will find enough info to keep you busy for a while.

I know what you mean. I spend anywhere from 1 to 2 hours a night
