Does anyone sell bagged mulch? If so where do you buy it, what do you pay ,and is it a profitable thing to do.

My company has sold bagged mulch in the past and three or four years ago it was a great moving thing for us. This past summer sales just dropped off on them, quite honestly the fact that every grocery store and gas station is selling them now could probably be the reason for it. We are going to stick to only bulk mulch this summer with the exception of rubber mulch which we are going to sell in bags due to the high demand for it. As for where to buy it a google search should give you that answer.

Im not sure if they deliver to your area, but Coast of Maine bagged products have always been a big seller around here. All their stuff is totally organic which people are really into. Average price for a 3cf bag is around $5-$6 (retail). I know they have a 3 pallet minimum order.

Check out this company in OH

We buy stuff from a company in your neck of the woods called Mulch Manufacturing. It is more expensive than bulk, but quite consistent. If you can't find them PM me.

Bagged Mulch

In my area, bagged mulch is available... and a ton of varieties too! Anything from hardwood, cedar, pine bark nuggets, red, black, etc. The bags were either 2 cu ft or 3 cu ft and retail they cost $3.99 and $4.99, respectively.

Although when people come in for mulch, a lot of them like it in bulk (but there may be a minimum amount of yards to deliver depending on the place).

But for people who live in condos or only want to mulch a small area, the bagged mulch is pretty convenient and cost effective!

They are located between Dayton and Columbus. They ship a lot to Cleavland.
Cost is going to depend on how much you buy. In May we sell much like crazy. sometimes 10-12 trailers worth a week. I make a lot of money on it in the end but only because of volume. It is a lot of hard work for such little profit (By bag) You have to load every bag yourself. If you have self-serve. Customers will trash 25% of the bags on a skid. When they try to pick it up they dig their fingers into the bags and create a hole. Then they don't want a torn bag.

By the way. Mulch sales were down last year overall. You had the bug infested story from the south and IMHO people were tight on money last year and just fluffed it.
