Bagger for Toro Z400 - question

I have been searching for a bag unit for my 2008 Toro Z400. Found the complete set-up on e-Bay for $1,200. It is not the DFS bagger but rather the twin bag system.

First question, is this a good price? The listing was a NEW unit not used.

Second question, do these baggers work well? I would assume so but maybe someone has some user input.

That's a dang good price IMO. I paid that 4 years ago for the twin bag setup on my Grasshopper when i bought it new, and it's not near the catcher that the Toro/Exmark setup is.

How are you removing leaves off site? Or are you dumping on site? Reason I ask is going to a dump from a seat set up has been a huge time saver for my guys. But we also use a leaf loader. If you are dumping in the back of the truck or trailer then the bags are needed otherwise savings on the twin bag will be wasted on labor soon enough compared to dump from the seat.

That is real good price. I don't have that bagger, but most are the same and they work really well. I have a DFS and it's been a huge time saver. I either dump on all my properties or have a buddy come and suck em up and I just back up and dump, close it and I'm still sucking leaves... I love mine.

Well, I don't have a leaf vac but my plan would be to completely empty out my 7x14 except for the Z/bagger and dump in the front end of it on a tarp and park the Z behind the leaf/clippings pile. Should be able to dump a fair bit of material up there, at least a half days worth when I can go at lunch and dump, and then do another half days worth and dump at the end of the day.

I have seen the ease of the DFS but am not certain it would be an advantage unless yes, you have a loader system. I would not plan to dump on-site at too many homes unless they have wooded areas which not many of mine do.

In that case of dumping in a trailer do a dfs. Factor 1 to 2 mins per dump with bags. Compared to 20 secs with a dfs. 30 loads per property would add up fast.

My experience from using a twin barrel trac vac to a claimshell. 2 claimshell dumps to 1 trac vac dump. It does not seem like it takes long but it does.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I am going to order one of these up. DFS sound perhaps a bit better, but the price sounds prime for what he has. Need to be ready for tine rake/cleanup season.

I got the bagger unit today. Can I ask, how long does the bagger take to put on the Z? Take off?

Are you talking the entire system with unmounting the hopper/bags, vac, and weights? Or just the vac and bag/hopper?

Lets say just the bag/hopper for unmount.
For mount, lets say from the ground up. How much time for each?
