plastic bags with logo ?

i originaly put this in the wrong forum:

i used to leave my residentials a bill in the mailbox so it didnt blow away . but the usps called me and said even though i wasn't soliciting i still could not do that and i hate puting them in door cracks . so the other day i finished a lawn and went to put it in the storm door when i noticed that a pest controll company had been ther and left a bill in a little plastic bag with their logo on it on the door knob. that got me thinking that looked realy professional . i know i could mail it but who has the time .i dont mail any of my invoices out i hand deliver them and the customer will mail the peyment . does anyone use these type bags ? what was the responce of the customer ? worth it ?

We mail our bills, and I'm just wondering... isn't it hard to remember to drop off the invoice at each customers house after you finish up servicing their account? also, I don't know how many customers you have, but let's just say you have 75. 15 customers per day for 5 days, it takes you 5 days to get your invoices out. wouldn't you rather have them all mailed out and taken care of in one day?
Yes, I have seen the plastic bags you are speaking of from fert companies. Yep they look nice, but I still prefer the mail. jmo

Hand delivering them is a pita. If you put them on the door, you have to worry about the rain and wind blowing them away. Most of my residentials are never home when I mow and many I don't see all summer. Mailing them is the only way to go for us, one stop at the post office and they are on the way.

On fert jobs, we use the door hanger bags for information on what was done. Mowing and maintenance work, the results speak for themselves.

All invoices are mailed.....

I use the plastic door knocker bags for when I am leaving flyers or just leaving a note, the plastic helps keep things tidy and they hold better than a paper door knocker. I'm not too keen on leaving invoices though, at least with the mail you know they are going to get it.

BTW, I've never had anyone say to me that the plastic bag thing was cool, or whatever. Only had comments on businesscard and my "folder" that I use for quoting.
